What is Colt's Hour?
Each student attends Colt's Hour for 45 minutes a day. Colt's Hour is personalized learning time. During Colt's Hour, students receive specialized instruction based on their learning specific learning needs.
Depending on each child's specific needs, students may participate in skills-based interventions, standards-based reinforcement/remediation, English Language support, or enrichment during this time.
Each student is placed in a tiered group based on their specific learning needs. We use data from the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment, the Formative Assessment System for Teachers (FAST), as well as various diagnostic assessments to place students in the appropriate tier.
Teams of educators work together to make data-based decisions for the schools and for each individual student. Our teachers meet every five weeks to monitor students' progress and adjust plans as needed. Information about each tier can be found down below.
